USS Wahoo (SS-238)

A team of Russian divers led by Vladimir Kartashev found USS Wahoo (SS-238)
on July 28, 2006, in the La Perouse Strait. Mr. Kartashev was searching at the
location provided by the Wahoo Project. The vessel is at a depth of 213 feet.

The U.S. Navy has confirmed the identity of the vessel as USS Wahoo.
USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park hosted a memorial ceremony for the
officers and men of USS Wahoo on October 11, 2007. Over two hundred family
members and friends of the Wahoo crew attended the event.
